[Puncak] Cimory Riverside

Some weeks ago on the weekend when I visit Nicole's Kitchen and Lounge, I also got the chance to visit Cimory Riverside for the first time. Yeah I've never been to Puncak for that long that the last time I went to Puncak, there's still only one Cimory Restaurant.

Cimory Riverside is one of the must-visited restaurant when you're going to Puncak. It's located on the right side of the road if you're heading there from Jakarta. The place is a spacious semi outdoor restaurant divided into some different levels. Below the restaurant area is the Ciliwung river, which visitors could see closer and have a riverside walk when the skies are bright. Too bad it was raining hard when we arrived there that we could only see the river from up above.

From left to right: Strawberry Milk, Chocolate Milk, and Mocca Milk (IDR 7.500 each)
Well one does not simply went to Cimory and not buying their milk, so here are ours. My favorite would always be their plain and mocca milk. It's too bad they're only serving their milk in cold temperature, because I'd love to have a cup of warm milk in such a cold day.

Zuppa Soup (IDR 26.500)
Since we failed to get a glass of warm milk, we decided to order this warm soup instead. As expected of zuppa soup, it comes with crunchy layers of pastry and creamy warm soup. The soup also came with generous fillings.

Nachos
Nachos is our comfort food, we almost always order nachos wherever we go. Cimory Riverside's nachos comes with generous tomato salsa and mozzarella cheese toppings. Love the tomato salsa, it was sour yet refreshing.

Assorted Sausages (IDR 44.900)
Five mini sausages served with potato wedges, mini salad, and BBQ sauce. I read somewhere on the internet that one of the sausages was supposed to be a cheese sausages, but this portion has no cheese sausages. I don't know if the sausages is different in every plate or we just got the wrong sausages in our plate. Anyway the sausages tasted good, but I enjoyed the potato wedges more. It got the crispy outer skin and seasoned just right. Perfect combination with the BBQ sauce.

Cimory Riverside also got a chocolate shop called Chocomory. The place is cute, the chocolate here are freshly made from their own chocolate factory. A nice place to buy souvenirs for your loved ones :D

[Puncak] Nicole's Kitchen and Lounge

It's been a long time since my last visit to Puncak. In my childhood I used to go to Puncak almost every weekend, meet my big family at my grandma's villa, and play with my two favourite cousins there. At that time Puncak was always very crowded in weekend, but I think it's popularity  began to fade when the Cipularang highway built. People would prefer to go to Bandung for there is more choices of food and leisure there, so like every other family, we began to abandon our Puncak weekend routine.

But then lately the name of Puncak often be heard again thanks to Nicole's Kitchen and Lounge. Located at the same area with Brasco Factory Outlet, Nicole's has brought a new concept for people to enjoy the beauty of Puncak. The rooftop lounge is a real beauty, for sure. It's designed all white, and it has glass roof and sliding windows all over the place, allowing the bright sunshine and breezy wind to enter the room. The outside area has a lot of rattan sofas and gazebos, a really nice and cozy place to spend a quiet holiday.

The food they serve was quite various, they have Western, Asian, and Indonesian food selection. The pictures below are what we had that day,

Sate Kambing (IDR 48.000)

Fish and Chips (IDR 42.000)

Beef Black Pepper with Rice (IDR 48.000)

Chicken Cordon Bleu (IDR 55.000)

My dish that day is the Fish and Chips, and I didn't try the other dish other than mine. The Fish and Chips came in generous portion, the fish fillet was thick while the batter was thin and crispy. Too bad the tar tar sauce didn't compliment it well, it tasted just like plain mayo. In the other hand, we were really impressed by the presentation of the Sate Kambing. It's beautiful, and according to my friend, it tasted good too! The Chicken Cordon Bleu was another decent dish, while the Black Pepper Beef with rice was too watery for my friend.

In conclusion, the food were all pretty standard, they're quite good but not the one that leaves you craving for more. But the place itself was more enjoyable than the food. Would love to come again to spent a nice afternoon outside with a cup of tea and snacks, maybe?

Ah Poong

Last Saturday, me and David were having an impromptu trip to Bogor. We were actually planning to have our valentine's date, since we didn't have a proper one on the 14th, but we're not in the mood for fancy restaurants and movie date, so we just thought, why don't we go to Bogor? I've been wanting to try Ah Poong in Sentul City since I read the review on Wanderbites

Ah Poong is actually the newest branch of Eat&Eat, located in the riverside of Sentul City. To go there, take the second Sentul Exit from tol Jagorawi (Sentul Selatan Exit), not the first one. We almost got lost by taking the first Sentul Exit.

We arrived at Ah Poong at lunch time, and the place were so crowded. It's hard to find the parking lot, and it's even harder to find an empty table. We decided to walk slowly, take a look of the choices of food, as we're looking for the empty table. The is divided into two parts, the first is selling authentic Indonesian Food, and the second part is for Peranakan Food. Other than food, they also have a little 'floating maket' selling fruits in the boat, and they rented the boat to the guests, with no minimum charge. You can pay as much or as cheap as you want for renting the boat.

From the wide selection of food, here's what we chose:

Martabak Kubang (IDR 29.000)
Martabak Kubang is a kind of Peranakan Food which mixes the Padang and Indian spices into the fillings of the martabak. The spice blended very well in the mouth, along with the eggs, beef, and the crispy skin of the martabak. Love it.

Nasi Bakar Ayam (IDR 32.000)
This was also good. The rice is filled with spicy shredded chicken, and then grilled inside the banana leaf, creating nice aroma when you eat it. But the fritters that comes with it is a little dissapointment. It's cold and chewy. Euw.

Tahu Telor (IDR 22.000)
Tahu Telor has never been my favourite, but always been David's. Tried it a little and it was okay. The egg is crispy on the outside, and the bumbu kacang (nut seasoning) was also okay.

Overall, I think this less than IDR 100.000 lunch date is much more worthy than our usual fancy restaurant's date. Go and try yourself :D
